From Jeff Jarvis’s notes on the something Arianna Huffington said during a discussion at Davos:
She said that bloggers have obsessive-compulsive disorder while reporters (or more likely, their editors) have attention deficit disorder.
I think it depends on the reporter, or the editor, or the town, or the size of the news hole.
But all conditions aside, it’s much easier to use the Web to show the continuity of a story, to link to previous coverage, and to bring together the disparate elements of a story that get lost on paper.
It’s all about creating context.
If bloggers are any better than reporters at dogging a story day after day, maybe it’s the hyperlink doing some of the heavy lifting.
