Yes, I know, it seems a bit early to be applying for next summer’s internships, but a lot of the applications are due on November 1st, and you really don’t want to start digging through old binders for that one great clip on Halloween while you’re trying to put your zombie makeup on.
Or maybe that’s just me.
The JMC Jobs blog has a few interesting things listed, including well-paying 10-week gigs for the summer down in Tampa, which I can assure you is remarkably close to Busch Gardens, home of some seriously kick-ass roller coasters, among other things. The application for the Tampa Tribune is here (PDF).
If you’re serious about getting an internship next summer — and you should be — what you desperately need to do is show up at the CIIJ Journalism Job Fair at San Francisco State University on Tuesday, October 24th.
I went last year, and ended up landing a great internship which might have helped me land a great job. (More on that later today, maybe.)
If you go, be sure to dress for job interviews. They will actually not let you in if you show up in jeans and a t-shirt. Think about wearing a tie. Seriously.
