Introducing Overt Impact

tl;dr: I’m launching my consulting business today to help big companies answer big questions about Sustainability, AI, and WordPress Architecture.

Throughout my career, I’ve built experience and expertise on a wide range of topics all centered around content and marketing technology on the web.

In many cases, I’ve developed well-informed strong opinions on certain topics, and in other cases, I’ve learned that execution eats well-informed opinions for breakfast, and the reality is that “it depends” is a perfectly valid answer to many questions about technology — until you learn enough about a customer, website, company, or concept to understand what “it” really depends on.

It’s worked out pretty well for me.

During my last year on the WordPress VIP team at Automattic, I worked directly with Fortune 100 companies and large public sector organizations to help answer their biggest questions about WordPress architecture and how to build systems, processes, standards, and teams around ideas like “internal open source.”

For the six other years I was there, I consulted less formally with many WPVIP customers and partners on similar topics, including vendor selection, integrations, Salesforce implementations, personalization, and migration to the enterprise WordPress ecosystem.

I learned so much.

Now, I’m eager to open the doors to continue those conversations and start some new ones about how your company or organization can answer its biggest open questions about Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence, WordPress architecture, and the intersections of those themes.

Why Overt Impact? Because it’s the opposite of an Invisible Inkling (longtime readers of this website might remember that brand), and because these days I like making actionable recommendations that lead to measurable results.
