Honestly, this site doesn’t do much right, but I love the way this crime map filters by DWI at the start. It’s a HUGE problem in Albuquerque, so it’s totally logical to point them out right away.
10 grand ain’t gonna cut it. My advice? Make an offer just for the trademark and the albuquerquetribune.com and abqtrib.com domain names, and build an independent community news site there.
In a market that already has a popular alt-weekly and a great community site, I’m not sure all of these ideas would fly, but going online-only is a no-brainer.
Damn. I lived in ABQ for a year and I STILL can’t figure out which newspaper is which. Oh, maybe it’s because they’ve had a JOA since 1933. (No typo – 1933).
Albuquerque’s alt-weekly. Nice liquid layout, cute graphical promos for everything, although I’ve come to wonder whether readers see those as ads or content. Do the graphics tie-in to the print edition?
