When a community is small enough, a newspaper&#039;s ability to coerce, mislead or outright lie is tempered by the close scrutiny of the community. 

Online, transparency is important for big national outlets, but will have limited use when there are no links to your phone call to the local business owner&#039;s wife.</description>
