My primary motivation for continuing the path to a masters is the people who have their bachelors and are still working for minimum wage, or waiting tables. Really don't want to be like them. A masters degree and a paltry $37,000? Unfortunately, the industry has a long way to go before it emulates other sectors. In many countries overseas, the same qualifications with nil experience garner a minimum of $45,000 - $55,000. Get real. Are you suggesting that these salaries are good?
